We are expanding to 11 more towns covering the south shore area, including Quincy, Braintree, Weymouth, etc. OCES supports older adults and individuals with disabilities by providing vital information and coordination of services. By promoting healthy, safe living for our consumers, we hope to allow them to stay active and engaged in their lives and in their own communities for as long as possible. Our mission: Through the talents of an experienced and diverse workforce, OCES supports the independence and dignity of older adults and individuals with disabilities by providing essential information and services that promote healthy, safe living which positively impacts our community. To that end, OCES is looking for a dedicated Protective Services Worker (PSW) to work in our Protective Services department to investigate and substantiate allegations of abuse and neglect in the elder adult community. What you will do: Promote the independent functioning of members and provide services in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment Conduct investigations and evaluate the functional capacity, situation and resources of the elder Develop and implement appropriate protective services plan to alleviate risk and abuse Determine whether a petition to the court for a Protective Order exists and refer situations involving serious abuse to the appropriate District Attorney Provide emergency PS department coverage during non-business hours What you will bring: Your passion for helping others and desire to make a difference Adaptability to be able to change as the needs of consumers and/or programs change At least two years of experience in the human services field preferably with the elder adult population and/or crisis intervention Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field highly preferred; Current licensure if appropriate Bilingual preferred What you will get: Ability to work with an enthusiastic team of like-minded individuals Opportunity to develop professionally in your chosen career Great work/life balance: 35-hour work week with some flexibility; standard M-F workweek; hybrid work environment (home, office and home visits).
